Baby Veggies

I know about baby corn and baby carrots. But this is the first time I've seen baby CUCUMBERS. They're extremely refreshing in this hot climate.

We got this batch from my neighbor over here in Ipoh.

BTW, those baby carrots that you find pre-packed in supermarkets is a farce. They are actually from the bigger kind, but trimmed down to that size using machines. The REAL baby carrots are those organic ones that I've been buying from the farmer's market here. They are REALLY sweet when you roast them.

Hmm... I'm a snob when it comes to cucumbers (ok, I'm a snob when it comes to a lot of things). Don't like the local kind and will only eat only the Japanese kind and what's known as the English cucumber here where the skin is of dark green and thicker, a lot less seeds, so, it makes it even cruchier. I've been having them with my tuna and alfafa sprouts sandwich.
