A future elf to clean, cook and fetch?

Its not just Santa who has elves helping him out at this time of the year. It looks like I have a little elf developing very quickly in my own home too.

Monkey see, monkey do ALL the time now. Here he is doing some cleaning. He'll also ask for the ladle so he can 'cook' and when we say its time to go out, he'll go fetch my shoes for me. I know, I'm a proud Mama. But I can't help it. He even tries to arrange his own little shoes in pairs, side by side!

Dang! Where can I get a little elf helper like that? And he arranges his shoes? Wow, mine does everything BUT! That was so cute.

Well....he arranges his shoes if you don't ask him to. When you do try to ask him to do it, he just looks blankly at you. He's still an elf in training :)

One day when my oldest son was still a toddler, back in the days when we still used cloth diapers (gasp!), he watched my wife dip a dirty diaper in the toilet to get rid of the ... uh ... solids before putting it into the diaper pail to be washed. He thought about it for a moment, then took a clean diaper from the pile beside the changing table, went to the bathroom, and ceremoniously dipped it into the water like Mommy had done. I surely do wish I had that on tape!

Somethin' tells me when he figures out the difference between work and play, you'll be out of luck;) Enjoy it while it lasts;) Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, I know...when it comes time to really do the work, he's not going to do it.

Bilbo,
Cloth diapers are still in fashion....sometimes. Aaron uses them when we're at home but I don't want to risk it going out so we switch to disposable diapers when we leave the house. I hope I won't have to rescue any diapers from the toilet !!

Oh, Amanda - isn't he just adorable and the best little helper. I loved this, he is so sweet. My kids all did this too, when they were little - it stops, believe me ... all this willingness to help clean. Enjoy it and he's precious. Have a good Thanksgiving. Kellan

These elves are probably obtainable in the nearest elf shop.

Continue training him, and if he stops, whip out the whip! :-P One day, if I ever have a daughter, she can marry a well-trained man! ;-)
