Photostory Friday - The Roof Over Their Heads

I had to go fix my visa at the immigration office yesterday. It was located right on the other side of town, in the outskirts of Palembang. The drive, as usual, was interesting.

Here are some homes directly opposite the office.

We purposely turned around again to get this photo because I was too busy staring and imagining what it must be like to live in that little back portion. Forgot to take the photo the first time around.

I thinks it's a safe assumption nobody in the final shot will be reading your blog from their place of residence.

All kidding aside, it does amaze me what some consider home.

What awesome photos! That way of life is so different from mine that it's almost impossible to wrap my head around!

A Northern Virginia real estate agent would describe the third place as "A bright, breezy fixer-upper on a quiet, rustic lot."

vw: pantedip - you really don't want to know.

Wow, wow, wow. You know I love your perspective on the other side of the world, and this just fascinates me.

Egan - You know what? I thought I was pretty safe too, about these people not seeing their houses on my blog. BUT, I'm not so sure anymore. I have noticed an internet cafe in a different location to these houses, but a similar setting. The powers of wireless internet!

Holly - Thanks for visiting. I live in the same city as these people and even my way of life is so different.

Bilbo - LOL! That is the exact description of the place :)

MamaGeek - Thanks for hosting Photostory. I wish I had your photography skills so that I could capture these scenes even more vividly.

Chris - Me too!

We saw several homes like this when we were on our vacation this past November. Humbling experience.

looking at the roofless house reminds me what the bible said that our life on earth is temporal. We will return to the reunite with Him one day!

Bless those who stays in those houses!
